I discovered Matt's books in the fall of 2018. I'm just finishing up the 3rd in the 90 Days series. My husband and i have enjoyed them all immensely. Matt speaks in plain English and tells it like it is! If you struggle with legalism I think Matt's writing will help you immensely. We gave copies of this book to all the folks in our Bible study and do the 20 or so folks in the tiny church we pastor for Christmas! Blessings to you, Matt!
Im not sure I can put into words what this book has done for me. I believe God led me to Matts Facebook page and then to this book. I just finished it and I want to read it again. I feel so much better about myself and about my relationship with God. I love how Matt speaks/writes in a way I can understand and learn. This book and ministry have been a blessing in my life! I give this book a million stars.
In 60 Days for Jesus Vol. 1, Matt takes you on a journey that sounds to good to be true. But every page is filled with the biblical truth that God loves you. The message and truth found in this book will not only set you free but change the way you see God and yourself. Matt is both personal and vulnerable and through his eyes we see how God changed him and how God can change us, too. Matt knows the heart of the father, and says in God's voice, “You are not rotten in your core, stop saying that. You are not broken on the inside either, I’m here. Inside your spirit, you are complete because of me. You are perfect just like me in your spirit, because I’ve given you a new spirit. Sure, your poor choices and your unrenewed mindsets are rotten, but you are not. Stop confusing them. Your rotten actions and attitudes might have produced brokenness, but you are not broken in any way—I’d never allow that. Matthew, no matter how many mistakes you’ve made, I still love you exactly as you are. I’m here with you, I’m committed to you, and I’ll never go away. I love Matt’s zeal, joy in the Lord and honest sharing. I’m old enough (I imagine) to be his mother but he taught me a thing or two about scriptural truths though I’ve read the entire Bible multiple times. While I don’t agree with him on every point he makes, I listened and in doing so learned something that changed my prayer language. I wish his critics would spend more time listening and less time criticizing. Matt is doing God’s work and I got a blessing from reading his book. Well done Matt!
This Brother knows pain, rejection, legalistic religiousity, addiction, suffering and through a relationship with Jesus has confirmed true faith that Jesus has for those of us who have felt so inferior and downcast by comparing ourselves, or others who judge wrongly. Knowing who we are is the core of living out who God graciously redeemed and renewed us to be.Matt's book is like having God remove paint splatters off of your glasses, so you cam see yourself as God sees you, through clear vision. Hallelujiah! Powerful Book and down to earth author.
I have learned to be ok with "me" because Jesus is. I have finally realized that my fears were because I was trying to earn and preform acceptance and I always wound up feeling more lost. When Matt shared he went to bed at night and repeated the prayer of salvation every night because he had to know he did it right, I thought, Oh, my gosh,that was me! I didn't even realize I was trying to "earn" Jesus's acceptance. I FINALLY GOT IT! When I first believed at age 12, I was already accepted, unfortunately it took MANY years to finally see that. Thank you, Matt for letting God use you. My life has became better because of the truth you share.
By far one of the best Devotionals that I have ever read. Matt has a way of reaching inside your mind and challenging your daily thinking. Understanding Jesus' word and taking the time to let it sink in gets my day started. I think about each days devotional all day long and cant wait to read tomorrow's word. Wonderfully written!
