Very comprehensive and a useful guide makes this a worthwhile purchase. Great for all enthusiasts in the field whether you are a veteran looking to learn more or use it for reference or a tutorial for amateurs and/or entrepreneurs maybe looking to start their own business coordinating live events.

I enjoyed reading of this book, and will keep it around as a handy practical reference for equipment setup, patch cables and interconnect techniques. I found it to be presented in a logical and structured manner, yet written in a light and entertaining tone, peppered with a large number of photographs and useful diagrams. The inclusion of use and coverage of both digital and analog equipment is bound to keep the intimidation factor for new life stage technicians and casual users under control. Lastly, a large emphasis on safety and the hilarious diagrams are hard to miss and should keep everyone safe.

Great read for anybody working with sound equipment. I would also encourage leaders of mid to large size choirs to take a look at the chapters pertaining to sound checks,it would make the sound engineer's work that much easier. The language used is simple which means,if interested you will not be disappointed. For the more advanced engineers it is a gem to have especially when training someone in your crew . I think this is a must have if you call yourself a sound engineer or aspiringto be a proficient one. Well done....

I love this book. Really good and practical explanations of how and why things work the way they do. Logical and easy to follow. There is a lot of practical advice too. The information is easy to assimilate.

I'm musician who plays live every week. My band plays i a number of different types of venues. This book explained things about getting good live sound that we can easily apply to what we do and get better overall sound. Excellent.

This was not an easy book to write. I started the book in the summer of 2017, but quickly put it on hold because reliving what I had survived was very painful for me. Although, I will say, staying in a relationship with a narcissist was not an option for me, because staying would have been even more painful than leaving. I was becoming physically and emotionally unwell as the years passed by. In December of 2017, I felt like God was pushing me to write this book. I spoke at length with my brother, who said, "Laura, when the Lord asks you to do something, you can't say 'no'." I prayed about it, then I hibernated for four months, mostly on weekends, and wrote until I was depleted. I understand there are women and men out there who have been through even more abuse than I withstood. I hope you find the courage to speak up, too. If anything, perhaps Ugly Love will help you understand what narcissism is and how it can effect you. What you decide to do about staying or leaving the partnership is up to you. I've met men and women who have stayed, and I've spoken at length with those who left. I can tell you this: I have not met one person who regrets leaving after the drama of the initial departure is over.I am pulling for you no matter what you decide. Laura Charanza is a two-time survivor of narcissistic abuse. After four decades of pain and self-doubt caused by loving narcissists in her life, Laura understands why abuse victims feel unworthy, unlovable and intrinsically broken. I originally just downloaded the sample, and thought OMG....how could I have been so stupid? I realise now I wasn't stupid...I was just sucked in by typical narcissistic behaviour masquerading as love. Love doesn't rant and rage and rave, shame and scorn for years and years. Love doesn't seek to limit your potential, keep you small...and love certainly doesn't a week before Christmas in a fit of rage, text "I quit." That was the gift - that and this book and the story shared that was so relatable - so me. Looking forward to reading the chapters on divorce so I can prepare for the road ahead. A great resource for anyone in a relationship with a narcissist. I also recommend, "getting the love you want."

I guess it easier to get away from Narcissist if your not old and disabled. When you don’t have money for healing it a lot different. All the things she suggests is great if you have a good job.

What I liked about Ugly Love was leaning to understand narcissism. While reading Laura's book, I was able to relate to so many of her circumstances and and experiences --- and realized I have known several narcissists in my lifetime. I now know how to recognize them, and not accept their behavior and tendencies. I'm thankful for the book because I'm better equipped to handle these people, and have accepted that it is okay to walk away.

Anytime I buy a book like this for self help I want to see atleast one thing that will help. It is well put together and I am going to purchase the Anger Trap as well by Les Carter. I thank Laura for expressing her truth to help others.

This book is a must read for any person whether you be male or female going through a narcissistic relationship! Your eyes will be opened along with knowing you can and will survive

Content is important and insightful. Please, know that I mean this most kindly. Please, have this book edited and then publish a new edition. It is difficult to understand the content through the duplicate paragraphs and other issues. Wishing you the best.

I want to give this book more stars. I truly do. We are HUGE fans of Kate DiCamillo. We have literally every book she has written on our shelves, which is why I didn't hesitate to pre-order this one on Amazon. However, I was immediately disappointed to see a character prominently smoking a cigar on one of the pages. The smoking/smoke is described in the text as well. There doesn't need to be a reference to tobacco use in a children's book; from a child's point of view, the reference was completely superfluous to this story. I find its inclusion by my favorite children's author totally irresponsible and disappointing.The story itself, like the Leroy Ninker spin-off, is a higher reading level (at least 1-2 levels) that Mercy Watson. It is incredibly moving at times (I shed a few tears reading a passage), but in a dark, heavy way that I needed to explain to/discuss with my grandchildren. It is less organized, with lots of unrelated scenes including familiar characters. While Kate DiCamillo has never been one to shelter our children from all of life's realities, it is considerably less light-hearted than Leroy Ninker. While Francine's discouraged soul-searching goes on too long for a children's book, the message of determination/perseverance is appreciated at the end. There are books my grandchildren pick up regularly. This one isn't one they (or I, sadly) have asked to read again. Gr1-3.

I purchased this for my five year old who has loved all of Kate DiCamillo's books. He enjoyed it, though I don't think it is his favorite of her books. However, as a parent it is definitely my favorite to discuss with my child. The main character, who is very self assured and competent in previous appearances, has a traumatic experience early in the book and struggles to regain her self confidence. The idea that adults can encounter this kind of setback and/or experience an extended bout of self doubt is one that I had not yet seen treated so well in a book targeted for this age group. I think it is very useful to have an accessible book that introduces the concept to younger readers, especially ones who might have observed an adult struggling in real life. The ultimate message is encouraging and uplifting.

All of the Mercy Watson and Tales from Deckawoo Drive from Kate DiCamillo are the PERFECT reading level for my 6 year old. She started reading these when she was 5. Great beginning chapter books! Clean and respectful content, silly stories, good word repetition, opportunities to expand vocabulary and practice intonation...we sit and read together and giggle for hours!

Lots of figurative language. My 7 years old had to really learn and guess what it meant. Good for learning vocabulary and meanings of some figurative language. Might be a little hard for some kids to remember specific details due to a language.

What can I say? These books are endearingly written with a touch of insight to the human condition that responses with all ages. I'm so glad we found this series. My 5 and 7 year old grandchildren love them, as do I.

My grandkids love these books by Kate DiCamillo. They are funny and the stories repeat a phrase often. The kids chant 'Toast with a great deal of butter" at just the right part of the storywith delight!

My grandchildren, ages 10, 8, 7 and 6, really enjoyed this book, They liked the screechy sounds of the raccoon, and the lively character of Francine Poulet. The older children could read it by themselves, and the younger children enjoyed listening to the story and finding out why the raccoon could say Francine's name. Kate DiCamillo does it again with another hilarious book filled with quirky characters and zany situations. She's such a clever writer! My 10 year-old son had a blast reading this book out loud together.
