This book is great for working on a wide range of the roadster year models (I love the older ones). I've had to go back and read a paragraph or two over just to be sure that I'm on the right section for the right year (Usually after looking for the part and realizing that I'm in the younger model section and have to go back and locate the right part- lots of head scratching and cursing involved- my bad) So, that could use some work, honestly it's not too much trouble, but, I'm old and grumpy. It might be helpful to lay it out for the different year models in a more aesthetically pleasing manner. Maybe by section, either way, it's a great book. I've saved thousands just by doing my own work- thank you!

Chilton was the first ever car manual I used in the 1960's, my friend's father was a top mechanic and at home he had a library of Chilton Manual's for his son and me to use so we could get the job done right the first time and save lots of time by knowing what to do. This version covers my Mazda Miata and I'm certain I will get my money's worth from the start .

I recently bought both the Haynes and Chilton manuals to have in the garage for some light reading. While the Haynes repair books used to be considered the "standard" by mechanically inclined enthusiasts, this example has been removed from that lofty perch and I would recommend the Chilton manual for a couple of very simple and critical reasons; the quality of the paper used is slightly better in the Chilton version which gives the user clearer type (easier to read) and the also provides clearer and crisper photos. The Chilton and Haynes manuals are IDENTICAL for all intents, even the same photos and illustrations are used throughout (I checked page by page and chapter by chapter, which wasn't hard since the books are not that big). The only noticeable difference between the Chilton and Haynes manuals is that the layout is slightly altered as a result of the torque recommendations being located at the front of the Haynes chapters versus the rear of each chapter in the Chilton. In the end, the better paper which was easier to read and clearer photos won out and I returned the Haynes manual since I had ordered both to compare. Neither manual was as comprehensive as they used to be, the step by step procedural methodology has been replaced by a general photo and at most a couple of paragraphs (except for the complete engine rebuild which the factory shop manual would be far better suited); at worst no photograph and a few lines of obvious instruction (in the case of the removal and installation of the convertible top the explanation is a very general overview, more akin to the account of creation in Genesis) instead of more detailed step by step instructions with photos for what is much more likely to be attempted by far more buyers of such a manual. I also own the Keith Tanner books which are more of what I was hoping for and expecting and are far better than either the Chilton or Haynes books. In the end, both the Chilton and Haynes books are better than blindly stumbling in the dark as you go about with a repair but not by very much.

Not very helpful. The instruction and detail level are not helpful in many cases--the steering wheel/airbag set-up for one, and the alignment details for another. Just about better than nothing at all. Fortunately I know enough to get the jobs done anyway--and probably could have without it.

The Motorbooks Workshop books tell you how to improve the car. Chilton tells you how to keep it running. Tinkering is part of the roadster ethic. Buy it. You'll like it. Don't forget the Japanese screwdrivers so that you don't bung up the screw heads too.

It has most of the stuff I need to fix my Miata. You could find most of this info online for free, but it is nice to have paper in hand in the garage.

Got this manual for my grandson's first car. He's already used it to replace the antenna and was very pleased to have the clear instructions and illustrations we expect from a Chilton's manual. Happy to pass along the tradition of Chilton's to my grandson. And, as always, going thru Amazon is the only way, manual was exactly as presented, arrived on time, excellent service.

This is simply a wonderful textbook. I teach a college class in international business and have used the most popular undergraduate textbook for years, gradually coming to the conclusion that there was a lot of extraneous material in it, and that it had the standard flaw of college textbooks: students come away having been introduced to lots of theories, but with no understanding of their relative importance. For example, they could graduate with a business degree and not understand capitalism or comparative advantage.This book, on the other hand (as another reviewer wrote), doesn't waste a word or a picture (most textbooks are cluttered) and focuses on what matters. Every word is worth reading, and if Boudreaux includes a graph it's worth 10,000 words. The students are thrilled with how short it is, at the beginning, and then they start to find the surprises and learn that many of their previous ideas are simply wrong. (This has come to be my definition of education.)And teaching this book has re-energized me!

Professor Boudreaux has written an excellent guide for someone wishing to understand globalization. The book is concise, yet thorough and Dr. Boudreaux's text is polished and interesting. This text would be useful even for those with limited understanding of economic principles as Boudreaux excels at simplifying material that others try to make more confusing than it actually is. He is a down to earth teacher whose goal is to help you understand, not an ivory tower pinhead whose goal is to inflate his own ego by leaving you wondering how anyone can understand this stuff.

I follow Dr. Bourdreaux he is a good economist..amongst the many others who do not have a clue.

I've read several recent books on globalization while planning an economic geography course, and this is the best-written. In particular, Boudreaux presents exactly the right amount of detail for beginning students (and for anyone else who wants to understand the subject without taking a year of economics beforehand). A course on globalization would require additional readings -- I'd supplement it with chapters from Global Shift, by Peter Dicken, among other things -- but this book is the best core text on the subject.

The more I learn about economics the more I realize how important the ideas in this book are. No wonder one of the most important books in economics, The Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith discusses similar topics.This book is very well researched, easy to read, presents interesting and convincing data, and uses novel and at times funny examples to describe how individuals interact and benefit from each other through specialization and trade. It discusses the topic of globalization and along the way educates about capitalism, freedom and economics.This book reversed my thinking about the effects of population and immigration. I was also glad to see the author's checklist of requirements that the a defense industry sector should meet before receiving special protection from international competition.One last thing I really like about this book is the list of suggested readings at the end of each chapter.Thank you Prof. Boudreaux.

Professor Boudreaux, a scholar in his own right, offers a technical but highly readable trade book that anyone interested in the topic will particularly enjoy.A must read for international business majors, economists, and future politicians.

OK so most people know if they are pro or anti globalisation, but everyone should read this book; it's authoritative, short, clear, and knocks the anti camp out for ten; read it! the chapter on the balance of payments deficit should be compulsory reading for every politician and political/economic journalist before they are allowed to open their mouths on the subject! Before I purchased this book I could grill steaks and cook pasta from the box but that was about the extent of my culinary expertise. Thanks to this book I can make eggs any way you want, or lobster bisque, or truss a bird efficiently.This is the cookbook I pick up first. I appreciate that Bittman lays down fundamentals (examples: what equipment you should have in your kitchen, or what you need to know about buying fish) and also suggests variants for recipes. I've loaned it out to other folks probably a dozen times and most of my friends wound up buying their own copies - or borrowing mine again :)If you're already a chef you probably won't pick up anything new but if you're just starting out in the kitchen (or starting over), you'll find it invaluable.

THIS IS THE BOOK YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!! Before I start, I did not receive this product in exchange for a review, or whatever, I really do feel this strongly about it...This will be the best cook book you'll buy, ever, and you'll save by discovering so many things you can cook from what you already have, or common ingredients and spices. I am a stay at home mom of three, and would just cringe whenever I'd serve dinner, I didn't know what the heck to cook and so it was basically a rotating menu of baked/breaded meat, mashed potatoes or plain rice, and a canned/frozen vegetable. Maybe some pasta and sauce, mac and cheese, box sides, etc. Sometimes I'd get fancy and cook a tuna or broccoli casserole. To make matters worse, I'm a strict vegetarian and s I'd only eat the sides, or pre packaged stuff. I am telling you this to say that within an hour or 2 of getting this book I was able to put together a weeks worth of much tastier, more wonderful meals that everyone loved using my crappy pantry ingredients/common spices I happened to have.When I went grocery shopping, I knew exactly what to get and my cart was mostly pantry ingredients and fresh veggies--which was always my goal but didn't know where to start. The leftovers (especially if you freeze and rotate) make great (cheap/tasty) lunches....and there's lots of recipes that use leftovers too. I also purchased the vegetarian version, which is just as amazing!

I have the hard book earlier edition of this book which I really like. I purchased the newer version as a Kindle Edition. Big mistake. I hate using the Kindle edition. For example, if one is reading about making a sauce and a link is suggested for a variation of the sauce and you click on it, guess what? You cannot get back where you started unless you wrote down the location number (no page numbering is provided). Come on! Why not allow a user to revert back to the previous page as one would be able to do if using the dictionary to look up a word. It may sound petty, but it is frustrating to me not being able to get back to the previous page. (I know that I could book mark the page, but that is not the point.)

This is a massive, encyclopedic work about cooking. There is so much information in here. I've tried several recipes already, to positive results. In particular, the Yogurt Biscuit recipe was earth-shattering. I've been trying to make homemade biscuits for some time now, with marginal success at best. Who knew that the secret is yogurt? I was very skeptical of this, but I tried it anyways. They were some of the best biscuits I've ever had in my life. I must say that I don't necessarily agree with every statement I have read in the book. But that is quite alright. It is just onr man's opinion. Bittman's opinions are no less valid than my own, to be sure. We just have different approaches to certain things. I think that's what the author would want. He seems to write this book as a stepping stone on your journey to successful cooking. He doesn't want the book to be the be-all end-all of your cooking repertoire. He wants it to be an educational experience that unlocks your own potential as a skilled cook. I love this book so far and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

My hunt for the greatest vegetarian cookbook is over. Unfortunately, it has been a long and expensive hunt. This book covers the ground of every other vegetarian cookbook, which means that my shelves are being cleared of all but 3 cookbooks, and those dozens of time and money wasting vegetarian cookbooks are on their way to Goodwill.The Survivors:1. How to Cook Everything Vegetarian, by: Mark Bittman (this book)2. The Joy of Cooking (every kitchen should basically come with this book pre-installed)3. Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day, by: Jeff Hertzberg, M.D. & Zoe Francois (and the local baker hasn't seen us since)

I could have three cookbooks: Best Recipes (for when I want science), Betty Crocker (for when I want Americana), and this. This is much less fussy than Best Recipes, and has a huge amount of suggestions for varying, combining, and using the leftovers from these meals. If I have some vegetable or other and I don't know what to make with it, this is where I'd go first, because chances are good that I have the other ingredients on hand.I haven't liked every recipe I've tried, but there's so much variety in this book that I don't mind that. Very different from some other (especially "healthy" or "simple") cookbooks where I can flip through and out of hundreds of recipes none of them sound appealing. Speaking of simplicity, here's someone who gets it. There isn't a lot of "weird" in here - these are recipes that I could make part of our regular rotation.

The best Cookbook I own. I got it for my birthday; I had been using my girlfriend's first edition. Not only are the recipes good, he explains a lot of things either along the way or in dedicated spots in the book. I'm always telling my girlfriend, "Bittman, don't fail me now." When I started with my girlfriend's, I was just starting to branch out in my cooking last year, and it was an excellent guide. Now that I have gained more experience with both cooking and baking, Bittman's book is even more enjoyable.
